The founding of Yatai Hotel Furniture stems from a deep, almost fervent passion for the furniture business.

Founder Mr. Liu Haitao entered the furniture industry in 1997 and has dedicated over two decades to the craft. Years ago, he clearly foresaw the development trajectory of the hospitality industry and was among the first to advocate that “enterprises must follow the tide of the times, transform and upgrade, and embrace the era of custom hotel furniture.” At the peak of his personal career, he chose to step away from the noise and founded Zhongshan Yatai Furniture Co., Ltd. in Zhongshan, Guangdong, in 2013, quietly embarking on his journey of brand building and development.

As the company’s helmsman and chief designer, Mr. Liu Haitao brings a uniquely discerning eye and relentless pursuit to the manufacturing processes and design innovation of hotel furniture. With his distinctive management philosophy and forward-looking market insight, he accomplished a three-step strategy—establishing the brand, scaling up, and achieving specialization—within six years:

•2013: Founded Zhongshan Yatai Furniture Co., Ltd.

•2018: Successfully upgraded to Guangdong Yatai Furniture Co., Ltd.

Beyond his work, Mr. Liu Haitao is also a poet, currently a member of the Chinese Poetry Society and the Guangdong Writers Association. His literary works appear under the pen name “Nian Nian Sheng Shi” (Victory in Those Years) in newspapers and magazines, including Zhongshan Daily, Nanyang Daily, Shenzhou, Writer’s News, Yalu River, Shenhua, Aurora, Henan Poets, Yangtze River Poetry, Qinghai Lake, Poetry Geography, Rush, and various online platforms. From academia to military enterprises and then to the business world, poetry has always been his way of expressing his inner self and nourishing his soul.

It is this creative team that has supported Yatai in accumulating 31 utility model patents and successfully achieving National High-Tech Enterprise certification in 2020.

Yatai has a highly experienced production and quality control team. Amid the wave of industrialization, Yatai cherishes the warmth and wisdom of handcraftsmanship, allowing traditional techniques to find new life in modern spaces. Our skilled craftsmen use their hands as measuring tools, breathing life into wood—hand-sanding to achieve a silk-like finish, and employing the innovative “Lingnan Tenon” technique, which integrates the essence of classic mortise-and-tenon joints such as dovetails and mitered tenons. This innovation increases structural load-bearing capacity by 40% and effectively addresses the cracking issues common in solid wood furniture.

The company maintains rigorous process flows and quality inspection standards. Our quality control team subjects every product to strict testing—including checks for warping, flatness, moisture content, pressure resistance, corrosion resistance, temperature tolerance, and scratch resistance—ensuring that every piece leaving the factory meets advanced industry standards.
